An International Stage for Clarinet Soloists.
The International Clarinet Festival “Portus Naonis” open its door to young talents with the International Clarinet Competition
as an unique opportunity to highlight the musical skill of each contestants.
The Competition is open to clarinetists from all over the world up to the age of 30.
Application must be sent within 30th March 2026 to enroll in a very high level competition as part of this year Festival.

A wonderful opportunity for the young players to compete with international colleagues and to play in front of a Jury of experts and a passionate audience.

The Jury of the International Clarinet Soloist Competition is composed of internationally renowed musicians, each one with a brilliant career and a deep knowledge of the instrument that guarantee a quality evalutation, recognizing the talent and rewarding the excellency of the contestants in this prestigiuos competition.

Winners
Amet Baptiste, born in 2011, is a young French clarinetist. He studies clarinet with Florent Héau and Alexandre Chabod in Paris, while also pursuing studies in marimba, percussion, piano, piano accompaniment, music writing, analysis, and orchestral conducting. He has also benefited from the guidance of Nicolas Baldeyrou. Among his notable appearances are a performance of Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2 in E-flat major, Op. 74 with the Orchestre Colonneat La Seine Musicale in Paris in March 2025, and a recital alongside Paul Meyer at the Salon-de-Provence Festival in August 2025. He has won several prizes, including 3rd Prize at the Sava Dimitrov Competition in Bulgaria in 2025 (Category C), 1st Prize at the National Rotary Competition in 2025, and 1st Prize at the National Clarinet Competition in Amiens (advanced cycle), which he won at the age of 10.
Leskauskas Gustas is a Lithuanian clarinetist based in Oslo, Norway. He got his bachelor’s degree at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with Prof. Rimvydas Savickas and now is continuing his studies at The Norwegian Academy of Music and Theatre with Prof. Björn Nyman. Gustas Leskauskas is an active participant of various classical music festivals and masterclasses. His latest appearance was at the Festspiele Mecklenburg Vorpommern in Rostock, Germany where he was playing as a soloist with the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock orchestra. As a soloist he has performed with several Lithuanian orchestras: Klaipeda State Musical Theatre Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian Armed Forces Band, Palanga Wind Band, Wind Band of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre to name a few. Gustas Leskauskas is also a prize winner of several National and International Competitions such as International Woodwind and Brass instrument’s soloists competition Ventus Musicale in Vilnius, XXIV International Eduards Mednis competition in Rūjiena, XXVII Juozas Pakalnis competition in Kaunas.
Midali Matteo studies with his father, the clarinettist Gianluigi Midali and in October 2025 started to study at the Pavia Conservatoire under the guidance of prof. Sergio Casellato. He regularly attends masterclasses with renowed artist such as Paolo Beltramini, Fabrizio Meloni, Valeria Serangeli, Laura Marzadori, Luca Milani, Davide Bandieri, Patrick Messina. He has won several national and international competition such as in 2022 the 1st prize - cat junior A -  and in 2024  the 1st prize in cat. junior B at the International Clarinet Competition of Carlino. In July 2025, the 2nd prize in the junior cathegory at the 7th Silverstein International Clarinet Contest. IN October 2025 the 1st International Clarinet Competition Città di Fano.

The two pieces for the preliminary round can be recorded in a single video or in two separate videos.
The pieces do not have to be played consecutively.

The age limit to take part in the Competition is 30 years old.

Competitors will be notified by email within April 30th, 2026.

The fee of € 30,00 for the accompanist is paid at the Competition Reception upon the competitor's arrival.
